Pass

- The act of not making a bet in the current round of betting, which you can only do if no-one else has placed a bet yet either.

Position

- Literally, a player's position in the order of play relative the dealer. Early position (close to the dealer in the order of play) means you are the first (or oneof the first) to speak. Late position means you are the last (or one of the last) to speak. Middle position means you are somewhere between ealry and late position.

Pot

- The pile of money or chips being played for in a hand of poker. It is possible for there to be more than one pot on the table if any player has gone all-in.

Pot limit

- Descriptive of a poker game where players are allowed to bet or raise up to the value of chips currently in the pot. Pot-limit Hold 'Em is the most popular variant of Hold 'Em played in organised casino games in the UK.
