UK Blackjack Simulator

NB: This page is still under development.

Introduction

This project started way back in 2003, and was initially an attempt to test and tweak various card counting systems, in order to produce a reliable system tailored for UK rules. Currently tailored for Stanley Casino rules (6 deck, dealer stands on 17, split any pair except tens, double on 9,10,11), the rulesets are fairly configurable, and caters for up to seven players, who can all be using different strategies. A couple of versions are accesible via the links in the History section on this page.
If you're a techie like myself, here are the technical details.

Strategies

The actions of the players are determined by a basic strategy, which is modified according to the 'count strategy' (which determines the value of each card for the running and true counts) and the 'bet strategy' (which determines how to bet according to the running/true count) defined for each player.

Current counting strategies programmed into the simulator are:

History

Version 0.2 - This version gives a graphical representation of the hands, and is restricted to one shoe. Doesn't show players' chip stacks though.

Version 0.3 - This version doesn't give graphical displays of each hand, but instead just displays the amount of chips each player has after each hand has been played. Restricted to 5 shoes. In this demo, four players are using Constant bet strategy (the default), one is using Hi-Opt 2, one is using Omega II, one is using Tens, and one is using Uston APC. Everyone starts with 100 chips, and the minimum bet is 2 chips.

Under Development

Version 0.4 is currently under development, and it appears to be evolving into a multi-player game server/trainer! At the moment it is purely text-based, but the basic game engine works. When I've polished it off so it's usable by people other than the creator, I will make it available to a few beta-testers. Register your interest by emailing me.

In parallel to the development of v0.4, I will endeavour to create a proper web version in the near future, where the user can configure such factors as the number of shoes and players, starting chips, and the strategies used by each player.

Future Development

The current project roadmap looks something like this:
